Description
This Filtroplast FL 40 cylinder is a porous, sintered high-density polyethylene (HDPE) element designed for surface filtration of liquids and particle filtration of gases. The hydrophobic, rigid structure maintains its shape in water and can be backwashed for longer on-stream-life. FL 40 falls within the Filtroplast liquid grades used for general clarification and clean-up duties, combining stable permeability with low pressure rise at practical face velocities. The element measures approximately 38 mm outer-diameter by 25.4 mm inner-diameter by 302 mm length, supporting compact installations where space is limited. Filtroplast media offers excellent chemical resistance, including most acids, strong alkalies, saline solutions, alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and many organic fluids such as oil. Elements can be machined to suit hardware and welded by heated tool for secure assembly. Recommended operating temperature is up to 80 C. Typical uses include compressed-air and process-gas polishing, cooling-water purification, catalyst recovery, bath circulation and oxygenation, and suction devices for air-removal on packaging equipment. Chemical cleaning with sodium hypochlorite or hydrochloric acid is supported when compatible with the process.
